The British Grand Prix never fails in providing drama for spectators who are lucky enough to get their hands on tickets to the coveted F1 race at Silverstone.

As all F1 racing fans know, nothing beats the wonderful atmosphere that can only be found when the British Grand Prix comes home to Silverstone. This reaches fever-pitch whenever there is a Brit in the racing line-up.

The British Grand Prix is one of the oldest races in the f1 calendar and the UK is home (in full or part) to six of the competing teams including McLaren, Williams, Red Bull, Racing Point, Renault and Mercedes. Silverstone's circuit also provides some amazing racing opportunities for both driver and spectator alike. The track itself used to be a former World War II aerodrome, it's fast and a quick lap time requires bravery and finesse from the racing driver. Many of the drivers consider the corners at Silverstone to be among some of the best in Formula One, particularly at the start of the race.

Over the three race days, Silverstone attracts a bigger crowd of grand prix racing fans compared to any other race in the f1 calendar. 'Race Day' is always busy so it is wise to get to Silverstone as soon as you can. If you have a Grandstand seat then you can afford to arrive later but if you are standing, the flag-mad fans tend to set up very early especially around the Luffield part of the circuit.

Packages to the Grand Prix include return coach travel, accommodation with breakfast, hotel-to-venue transfers plus General Admission ticket. Upgrades to the National Pits Straight and Woodcote B are available for a supplement.

2023 British Grand Prix Results:
2023 First Place: Max Verstappen
2023 Second Place: Landa Norris
2023 Third Place: Lewis Hamilton

Miniguide To The British Grand Prix

Under starter’s orders!
A few essentials for the British Grand Prix

What do I wear?
Can’t always rely on the British weather so watch weather reports beforehand. If you have a general admission ticket, please note that it is likely to be uncovered and the wind can be biting so bring a jumper or coat. No brollies as they can obstruct the view for others – wear a poncho instead!

What to take with you
The noise can be deafening so do take some earplugs with you or buy some at the circuit. Take a portable radio so you can keep up with all the action – pit stops, tyre strategy & weather predictions. Also take binoculars, so you can get a close-up view of the action.

‘It’s loud and fast…’
…making it difficult to keep track of the action and to spot your favourite. The easiest way to see all the action is via the Big Screens dotted around the circuit.

Are there any catering facilities?
There is catering to suit all tastes at Silverstone. Traditional hot snacks, baguettes, vegetarian food as well as other tempting treats from around the world. There are also a number of licensed bars serving beer and refreshments.

Can I take photos?
Cameras, mobile phones and other communication devices are permitted. However, the taking of photos must be for personal, non-commercial use.

Can I get into the Pit or Paddock areas?
There is no access to this area of the circuit during the event. Only Formula 1 Paddock Club Hospitality tickets have access to this area of the circuit.

Is there merchandise available?
Yes there is but don’t rely on your credit/debit cards as they may not be accepted so make sure you have cash as well. The official programme costs about £16, beers start from £4, burgers from £6, hats from £25 and T-shirts from £50.

What’s all this about a radio?
Most f1 fans will tell you that a radio is an essential item to take. Make sure yours has in-the-ear headphones or a pair of big bins to cut out the background noise. You can then follow all of the action via either 5 live or the local Silverstone radio station 88.7FM.

When should I get to Silverstone?
If you are making your own way to Silverstone then it will be wise to leave as early as you can especially if you have General Admission tickets as you’ll want to secure a good viewing spot on the circuit and experience the build-up and morning races. Stick around at the end of the race because they open up the barriers and allow spectators to walk around the track and get closer to the Pit Lane.

Do children need a ticket?
Yes. Anyone under the age of 15 must have a ticket and they must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

What if I am in a wheelchair?
Mobility scooters and wheelchairs can be hired from Event Mobility. There are raised platforms for people in wheelchairs available at Luffield Terrace, International Pits Straight and Club so you can enjoy the race in the best possible conditions.
