Itinerary

Day 1

Join your coach at your convenient local pick-up point, and get comfortable as we head to Kent to Dover for the crossing to France.

On arrival in Calais, we continue to Belgium and our hotel in the centre of stylish Antwerp. You can either relax in the centrally-located hotel this evening or explore the surrounding bars and restaurants to grab a bite to eat in this beautiful city.

Day 2

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel followed by free time at leisure to explore Antwerp.

In the afternoon, we will head into The Netherlands to reach Andre Rieu's home town of Maastricht. The concert starts at 9:00pm but we aim to arrive late afternoon so that you have time to explore the city and also get some food and drink before the concert starts..

*Please note that this is an outdoor concert with no tiered seating, which will start at approximately 9pm and finish at about 11.45pm. As soon as possible once the concert ends, the coach will take you back to our hotel in Antwerp arriving around 1.30am subject to traffic.

Tickets are Rank 4.

This tour is not recommended for children under age 14

Day 3

After a leisurely start, you can enjoy breakfast followed by another full day to enjoy Antwerp. Add a riverside fortress, an impressive cathedral and further remarkable architecture to cobbled lanes and the result is somewhat astounding. This cosmopolitan city hosts fashionable shops, outstanding museums and plenty of greenery. It’s no wonder that Antwerp is a popular city break destination!

Known as the City of Diamonds, this city is known for its diamond production. Visit DiamondLand to learn about valuation and the 4 Cs. Furthermore, you can also watch the diamond polishers and goldsmiths at work. From diamond dealers to fashion moguls and club queens to art lovers, Antwerp attracts people from all walks of life. Antwerp was also home to another gem – the Flemish painter Rubens. Many sights around the city feature his works and you can also visit his home. Now a museum about the artist, it boasts a large collection and fascinating temporary exhibitions. In addition to this, a stroll around the city is remarkable in itself. The old town features charming gabled buildings and a beautiful Gothic cathedral. This is a fascinating slice of Belgium!

Day 4

After a final breakfast, say farewell to your hotel and Antwerp and sit back and relax as we head back towards Calais and the ferry crossing back to the UK and the onward journey home. We would expect to arrive back into South Wales mid-evening subject to traffic.

Antwerp

Antwerp is the capital of cool and grandeur. This port city has been seducing anyone with a taste for style for centuries right back to the time of Baroque innovator Peter Paul Rubens, and it has not lost an iota of its glamour since. Artists, fashionistas and diamond merchants; all can still be found here. Antwerp combines the grandeur of yesteryear with an urban vibrancy. Its Grote Markt and cathedral, Scheldt riverbanks and cobbled streets go hand in hand with a thriving nightlife, galleries, and art palaces. It is home to the Rubens House, Plantin-Moretus Museum, Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA), the Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp (M HKA) and much more… The options in Antwerp are endless, as long as they have that gleam.

Maastricht

Maastricht is a beautiful city to visit, filled with history, art and culture. It is a city surrounded by beautiful nature set in the south of Holland and boasting beautiful historic little districts, welcoming and exceptionally good restaurants and eateries, and plenty of art and attractions. And the best thing is that you can see the entire city centre on foot. Maastricht is also a city of indulgence and culinary highlights. There are pleasant lunchrooms, Michelin-starred restaurants and an extensive range of excellent regional products and dishes. In short, ‘bons vivants’ should not miss out on Maastricht!
