The Rhine In Flames Firework Festival takes place five times a year from May until September in the beautiful setting of the UNESCO listed Middle Rhine Valley.
Along the Rhine River between Rudesheim and Bonn, you should be able to see wonderful pyrotechnics, a flotilla of illuminated boats and blankets of fire covering the riverbanks. Look up into the night sky and you will see an awesome display of amazing colour as fireworks explode above you. The breath-taking acoustics and medieval backdrops will add to the atmosphere of this spectacular event but be prepared for the tremendous thunder of firecrackers that are sure to make you jump!
Usually at the same time as the magnificent Rhine In Flames, there will be a traditional wine festival or other celebrations that you will also be able to join which no doubt will involve some sort of music and dancing. The largest of the Rhine In Flames events takes place at the Rheinaue Park in Bonn and attracts around 300,000 people but has spectacular views of the midnight firework display so make sure you get there early to grab a good viewing spot.
