The Phantom of the Opera musical is set against the backdrop of the Paris Opera House, France where some unexplained events have led the current owner to sell the building to businessmen Monsieur Firmin and Monsieur André. The story of the Phantom of the Opera focuses upon Christine Daaé who was told stories about the 'Angel of Music' by her father before he passed away. Christine is proving to be a rather talented ballet dancer and under the watchful eye of Madame Giry catches the eye of the two businessmen as well as her childhood friend Raoul, the Vicomte de Chagny. It also becomes apparent that someone or something else has also been carefully watching.
One evening, as Christine is changing for dinner with Raoul, the Phantom of the Opera appears and takes her to his lair beneath the Paris Opera House. Fascinated by the man in the mask, Christine attempts to remove it to see who has kidnapped her. This disgruntles the Phantom and he quickly returns her to the rest of the cast. Despite falling in love with Christine and teaching her to sing the music of the night, the Phantom continues to wage war against the people who run what he considers to be his theatre. Christine believes that the Phantom is the 'Angel of Music', talked about by her father, and grows to care for him up until some hideous events occur where someone is killed in suspicious circumstances with all evidence pointing to the Phantom being the culprit.
Christine, fearful for her safety, turns to Raoul who promises to protect her and a plan is launched to end the Phantom's terrifying reign by capturing and unmasking him. But will they succeed in their plan? Through the power of a beautiful musical score by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, clever special effects and an element of magic, you'll be taken on a spellbinding journey that you'll never forget!
