Killarney

People who live in Killarney are rightly very proud of their vibrant ‘little’ town and the incredibly beautiful surrounding countryside which makes Killarney a very special place indeed. Brim full of history, heritage, activities, and world class hospitality. Killarney is populated with enthusiastic and welcoming people, all eager to welcome you back but with your safety and wellbeing in mind. You’ll be spoilt for choice when you start exploring and the ‘craic’ in Killarney really is second to none. It’s a fabulous place!

The Ring of Kerry with Jaunting Cars & Lake Cruise

Today we’ll take you on a fabulous scenic tour around the beautiful Ring of Kerry. In addition to exploring by coach, we’ve included a traditional jaunting car (horse and cart) tour along with a lovely lake cruise.

From land to lake, experience the full range of scenery and history that Killarney has to offer and the best way to explore the Killarney National Park as well as the famous Lakes of Killarney. Start your tour onboard a traditional Jaunting Car and enjoy the unique beauty of Killarney National Park and its wildlife as you ramble through its tree-lined avenues before your arrival at Ross Castle (NB: admission to Ross Castle is not included).

Learn about the history, legends and folklore of the area from your local Jarvey Guide and also catch a glimpse of the Park’s unique wildlife including the Red Deer, the last native herd in Ireland. On arrival at Ross Castle, you will be invited to board MV Lake Cruiser and set upon a voyage through Killarney’s largest and most picturesque Lake, Lough Léin from the comfort of this glass-covered, heated vessel.

Immerse yourself in the unique ecosystem of the National Park with its glistening Lakeland and majestic mountains for miles and learn about the folklore and legends of the area as well as its landmarks with live commentary from your informative Captain.

Bantry Bay & Garnish Island

Located in the sheltered harbour of Glengarriff in Bantry Bay, Co. Cork, Garinish is a small island known to horticulturists and lovers of trees and shrubs all around the world as an island garden of rare beauty.

The gardens of Garinish (also known as Garnish, or Ilnacullin) owe their existence to the creative partnership, some eighty years ago, of Annan and Violet Bryce, then owners of the island, and Harold Peto, acclaimed architect, and garden designer. The island is renowned for its richness of plant form and colour, which change continuously with the seasons. Pathways wind around the landscape, leading to several fascinating garden buildings, such as the Grecian temple, the clock tower, the casita, and an original Martello Tower. Bryce House, the family residence on the island for many years, is presented as it would have appeared during their lifetime. A selection from their vast collection of important paintings, prints, drawings, and books can be seen on display inside.

Please note that credit and debit cards are not accepted on the island. Cash only.
