An introduction to Prague

Prague is undeniably one of the favourite places to visit when considering Czech Republic coach tours and this is down to the sheer beauty of the city that was left largely unscathed by the raids of World War II. When you have soaked up enough history, continue your Prague adventure with a visit to Malá Strana, the Little Quarter, where you will find beautiful baroque gardens and palaces belonging to European and Czech nobles. Some of these gardens are only accessibly by relatives of these former noblemen but there are a few which are open to the public such as, Vrtba Garden, Petřín Hill and Franciscan Garden among others. Other must-see's include; Lesser Town Bridge Tower and the Czech Museum of Music.

Do not miss your opportunity to travel across the famous Charles Bridge on a coach tour where you will come across Staré Město, the Old Town Quarter, which is the bustling commercial centre of Prague. One of the main attractions here is the Old Town Square (Staromestske namesti) which is home to the Astronomical Clock and is something every tourist visiting Prague should see so make sure you're in the Square before the clock strikes the hour. Other must-see's include;  St Nicholas Church, St Tyn Church  and the Charles Bridge Museum.

Conclude your explorations of Prague's famous Quarters with a coach tour to Nové Město, the New Town, where you can visit its most famous landmark, Wenceslas Square which used to be a horse market in its earlier days. Visit Dancing House, a modern building offering fine French cuisine and amazing views of the city. Astronomical Clock
This famous clock has been ticking away since 1490 and has become a must see when visiting Prague. Each hour on the hour a wooden saint emerges from its trap doors, supposedly teaching a lesson in medieval morals. The clock face has a ring a zodiac ring which features all the zodiac star signs indicates the location of the sun on the ecliptic.

Prague Castle
This historical Castle makes up the UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is one of the largest castles in the world. It consists of a composition of palaces and ecclesiastical buildings. Each day you can view the changing of the guard at 12.00 in the first courtyard, and then at 7.00 and 20.00 (18.00 in the winter) by the Castle Gates.

Old Town Square
Situated in the heart of the Old town in Prague, the square is a lively destination surrounded by baroque style buildings, cafes, street entertainers and craftsmen and women. It is here in the Old Town Square that you can see the Astronomical Clock, Tyn Church and St Nicolas Church. To fully appreciate this historical square climb the Old Town Hall Tower for stunning views.

Charles Bridge
Linking the Old town to Lesser Town, this pedestrianized bridge is extremely popular with tourist visitors. Lined with musicians, painters and other forms of street entertainment, it is no wonder why visitors flock here in the summer. Please be aware that this is a hotspot for pickpockets when busy with tourists, so if visiting ensure you look after your valuables.
